“Dime con quien andas y te diré quien eres.” (Translation: Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are.)

It may seem like a simple saying that our moms told us, but, turns out, there’s a timeless wisdom in this phrase.

You see, energy is everything. What you emit, you attract. You never see eagles hanging around chickens, even though they’re both birds. They are literally different species.

So it goes with winners. They tend to hang around each other. The conversations are on another level. The ideas are elevated. The dreams are bigger. The possibilities are endless.

It honestly has nothing to do with money. Money is an outcome of winning, not the reason. I’ve met winners at the beginning of their journey and knew it was just a matter of time before the world saw what I did.

So how do you apply this to your life?

You need to carefully curate your inner circle. Pay attention to the words and actions of those closest to you. Do they lift you up or bring you down? Do they inspire you to dream or encourage you to settle? Do they have dreams for themselves that they’re actively working on?

This sounds simple, but simple is rarely easy. Some of the people in your inner circle are members of your family that you see every single day. You may not be able to limit your time with them because of their proximity.

If this is you, it’s so important that you find people who not only understand where you’re trying to go, but who have also been there themselves. Surround yourself with winners and you’ll naturally start to see more opportunities, resources and dreams come to fruition.
